Rules for Study Hall

All Student-Athletes are expected to comply with all of the following rules when attending study hall.

1) Study Hall will be silent. Please conduct yourselves in the manner in which you would a final exam.
2) All Student-Athletes (S/A’s) are expected to come to study hall prepared. This means that it is up to the S/A to bring enough work to keep them busy for the duration of their time in study hall. If a S/A is not prepared then the S/A will be asked to leave study hall.
3) All S/A’s are expected to show respect to the other S/A’s and Monitors/Tutors around them. This means NO TALKING, NO MUSIC, NO FOOD, NO CELL PHONES and NO WANDERING AROUND THE HALLWAYS. You are in study hall for the sole purpose of completing your schoolwork and studying. If you need to talk with another S/A about scholastic issues please approach the monitor on duty and let them know what you require and accommodations will be made if possible.
4) No hats of any kind will be worn in study hall.
5) S/A’s need to be in study hall for a minimum of 1 hour in order to receive credit towards reducing their weekly quota.
6) S/A’s cannot receive more than 3 hours of credit towards study hall in one sitting.
7) BATHROOM POLICY: If you need to use the Bathroom facilities it is expected that you first notify the monitor on duty. You are then allotted a reasonable amount of time to use the facilities. If you are not back within a reasonable amount of time you will be signed out.
8) COMPUTER LAB POLICY: AT NO TIME SHOULD ANYONE BE CHECKING E-MAIL OR SURFING THE NET WHILE IN STUDY HALL. (IF YOU NEED TO DO SO, FOR SCHOLASTIC REASONS ONLY, YOU MUST FIRST CHECK WITH THE MONITOR ON DUTY.) ABSOLUTLY NO GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON THE COMPUTER DURING STUDY HALLL. IN ADDITION, SURFING OF INAPPROPRIATE WEBSITES (PORNOGRAPHY) IS GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL FROM STUDY HALL AND FORFEITURE OF HOURS FOR THE WEEK. S/A’s who misuse the computer lab will be signed out. In addition, you cannot sign in and go to a separate site to utilize a computer lab.
9) TUTOR POLICY: If you need to see a tutor, you must first notify the monitor on duty. If no tutor is available, the monitor will put your name down on a waiting list and you will have to wait in the main study hall room until the tutor notifies you that he/she is available.
