In its final regular season game, Rutgers baseball clinched the series at Memphis with a 7-5 victory Saturday at FedEx Park. The Scarlet Knights enter the postseason having won 10 of their last 11 games.

Freshman Gaby Rosa (Perth Amboy, N.J.) and redshirt freshman Kyle Driscoll (Toms River, N.J.) combined for a shutout and junior Vinny Zarrillo (Forked River, N.J.) hit a three-run home run to spark Rutgers baseball to a 7-0 victory Friday at FedEx Park.

Rutgers baseball jumped up to an early lead, but ultimately dropped the series opener at Memphis, 8-3, Thursday at FedEx Park. The loss snapped the Scarlet Knights’ eight-game winning streak and was the first in the month of May for the team.

May-14-14 Baseball Concludes Regular Season at Memphis
Currently riding an eight-game winning streak, Rutgers baseball will hit the road for its final series of the regular season at Memphis starting Thursday. The Scarlet Knights have clinched at least the fourth seed in the American and can move as high as third.

May-13-14 Sweeney Named Candidate for Gregg Olson Award
Senior Pat Sweeney (Sparta, N.J.) of the Rutgers baseball team has been named a candidate for the 2014 Gregg Olson Award, presented by Toolshed Sports. The award honors college baseball’s “Breakout Player of the Year.”

May-12-14 Brey and Favatella Named to Weekly Honor Roll
After completing the week 4-0, Rutgers baseball had two players earn a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Sophomore left-hander Howie Brey pitched a complete game against USF, while senior second baseman Nick Favatella hit .500 with a .611 on-base percentage.

May-11-14 Baseball Finishes Sweep of USF on Senior Day, 12-2
Rutgers baseball scored four in the first inning and never looked back in a 12-2 victory over USF Sunday at Bainton Field to complete a three-game sweep on Senior Day. It extended the home winning streak to 13 games and eight overall.
