PISCATAWAY, N.J. – For the fourth straight year, Rutgers will play in the Jimmy V Women’s Basketball Classic. The Scarlet Knights will host Florida on Monday, December 7 at the Louis Brown Athletic Center. The contest- the eighth annual Jimmy V Women’s Classic - will be broadcast on ESPN2.

When an athlete begins his or her collegiate careers, their goals vary. Whether it is a desire to win at all costs or a hunger to compete and give it their all with the hopes of improving one's self to play professionally, few encompass the ability and determination to accomplish what they set out to do. With her career at Rutgers winding down, senior Kia Vaughn has certainly proven to everyone that she has not only obtained her goals, she has surpassed them.
Vaughn, an imposing 6-4 center, currently sits just three rebounds shy of becoming the fourth player ever at Rutgers to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. According to the Bronx, N.Y. native, reaching a feat that only three other players in RU's illustrious history have ever accomplished, just shows that she's been doing her job. With that workman's attitude, it's no surprise that she has the respect and admiration of all her teammates and coaches. FULL STORY
