RUTGERS ON THE AIR
Rutgers basketball games are broadcast over the Rutgers Radio Network via 50,000 watt WOR 710 AM and Central Jersey’s WCTC 1450 AM.
CHRIS CARLIN
Chris Carlin, a New York Metropolitan sports personality who is also the play-by-play announcer for Rutgers football, is in his second season as the voice of RU men's basketball. A native of Chatham Township, N.J., Carlin is host of SNY's Mets pre and post game shows, where he is joined by Mets studio analyst Bob Ojeda. Carlin is also a co-host of Loud Mouths with Adam Schein, as well as a co-host of Beer Money - the network's popular New York sports trivia show. In his ninth year with the RU Radio Network, Carlin recently completed his sixth season as play-by-play voice of Rutgers football. Prior to joining SNY in March 2008, Carlin spent 13 years at WFAN where he held a variety of positions, including being a sportscaster for the Boomer & Carton Morning Show, hosting the New York Giants' pre- and post-game coverage, as well as calling Giants pre-season games. Carlin and his wife Sheryl reside in New Jersey.
DICK LLOYD
Dick Lloyd, the former Rutgers head and assistant coach, returns as color analyst. Lloyd served as an assistant for six years before taking over as head coach for two seasons. His two teams (1971-72, 1972-73) compiled a combined 29-22 record and his 1972-73 team participated in the NIT. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Lloyd served in various alumni relations and fund-raising positions at Rutgers for more than 30 years. In 1989, he was named the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. On March 1, 1994, he was named Assistant Vice-President for Alumni Relations. From 1984 to 1989, Lloyd served as Director of Annual Giving. A 1962 graduate of Bloomsburg University where he played on the basketball team, Lloyd is the older brother of Bob Lloyd, Rutgers' first basketball All-American. He and his wife, Marian, reside in Somerset and are the parents of Rick, Brian and Debbie.
THE FRED HILL SHOW
The Fred Hill Show is a half hour podcast hosted by Chris Carlin. The program can be listened to online and will be available for download to personal media players via both the athletics web site and iTunes. Chris and Coach Hill break down games and look forward to upcoming BIG EAST match-ups. Fans can email questions for inclusion on the show via this link. The first show of the season was available on Thursday, Jan. 14. The Fred Hill Show will be posted in digital format for nine consecutive weeks.
INSIDE RUTGERS BASKETBALL
Veteran sportscaster Bruce Beck is the host of Hill’s weekly, 30-minute television show, Inside Rutgers Basketball, which airs on SNY, The Comcast Network in Philadelphia, as well as on the Middle Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and Cox Cable, while also being available online at www.scarletknights.com. The 2010 edition of the show will once again be produced in high definition. The show features a magazine format designed to provide insight into the people and personalities that make Scarlet Knights basketball go.
