Rutgers on the Radio

Rutgers fans can follow the exciting action of all Rutgers Men's Basketball on radio this season on WOR (710 AM in New York) and WCTC (1450 AM in New Brunswick). Join Chris Carlin and Dick Lloyd for all the action during the entire season. Fans you can also listen to Rutgers Women's Basketball home games on WCTC- 1450 AM

Chris Carlin, a New York Metropolitan sports personality who is also the play-by-play announcer for Rutgers football, is in his first season as the voice of RU men's basketball. A native of Chatham Township, N.J., Carlin currently hosts an hour-long show weekday mornings on WFAN Radio while also co-hosting two television shows on SportsNet New York (SNY). Carlin is in eighth year with the RU Radio Network and recently completed his fifth season as play-by-play voice of Rutgers football. In addition to hosting his show, he also serves as the sportscaster for the Boomer & Carton Morning Show on WFAN. Carlin has hosted New York Giants' pre and post game coverage for the Fan and has also called Giants pre-season games. Carlin co-hosts a daily topical sports show on SNY with Adam Schein called Loudmouths. The show airs every Monday through Friday at 6:00 p.m. He also co-hosts Beer Money with Julie Alexandria on the network, a sports trivia game show testing the knowledge of random contestants on the street. The show can be seen on SNY on Sundays at 7:00 p.m.

Dick Lloyd, the former Rutgers head and assistant coach, returns as color analyst. Lloyd served as an assistant for six years before taking over as head coach for two seasons. His two teams (1971-72, 1972-73) compiled a combined 29-22 record and his 1972-73 team participated in the NIT. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Lloyd served in various alumni relations and fund-raising positions at Rutgers for more than 20 years. In 1989, he was named the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. On March 1, 1994, he was named Assistant Vice-President for Alumni Relations. From 1984 to 1989, Lloyd served as Director of Annual Giving. A 1962 graduate of Bloomsburg University where he played on the basketball team, Lloyd is the older brother of Bob Lloyd, Rutgers' first basketball All-American. He and his wife, Marian, reside in Franklin Park and are the parents of Rick, Brian and Debbie.

"MONDAY KNIGHTS WITH FRED HILL"

The 2009 Rutgers Basketball Radio Coach ’s Show, Monday Knights with Fred Hill, will air eight consecutive Mondays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. on both WOR 710 AM and WCTC 1450 AM beginning January 19. Chris Carlin will host the show, which will air live on five dates (Jan. 19, Jan. 26, Feb. 9, Feb. 16, Feb. 23) from Christopher’s Restaurant & Bar at the Heldrich Hotel in downtown New Brunswick.

The show will be available to fans outside the area via www.scarletknights.com. Each week, Chris and Coach Hill will break down previous games and will look forward to upcoming BIG EAST Conference match-ups. The show will feature live call-in opportunities, as well as special guests.

INSIDE RUTGERS BASKETBALL

Veteran sports announcer Bruce Beck is the host of Fred Hill’s weekly, 30-minute television show which airs on SportNet New York (SNY) and Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia. The 2009 edition of Inside Rutgers Basketball will be produced in high definition. The show features a magazine format designed to provide insight into the people and personalities that make Scarlet Knights basketball go. The show features highlights, interviews, a review of the previous week’s games, and previews of the upcoming opponents. Inside Rutgers Basketball will air eight consecutive weeks during the BIG EAST season.

The 30-minute show will air eight consecutive weeks and can be viewed Fridays at 3:30 p.m. on CSN and Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. on SNY. The show will receive additional weekly airings on SNY, including multiple Thursdays at 4:30 p.m., and will be available On Demand to Comcast Cable subscribers. It can also be viewed online at www.scarletknights.com.
