Men’s XC Finishes 17th at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (November 15, 2013) --  The Rutgers men’s cross country team placed 17th overall at the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regionals hosted by Lehigh on Friday afternoon.

Villanova captured the Mid-Atlantic title 34 points with Princeton in second with 60 points and Georgetown in third with 63.  The Scarlet Knights earned 470 points and led by  senior Chris Banafato (Bridgewater, N.J) who placed 52nd overall on the 10K course with a time of 31:29.

Other results included junior Chris DeFabio (Millington, N.J.) in 101st in a time of 32:39, senior Curtis Richburg (West Orange, N.J.) in 103rd in 32:40 and freshman Sam Habib (Old Bridge, N.J.) in 105th in 32:47.

Also racing for Rutgers on Friday were freshman Jamin Vekaria (Clinton, N.J.) taking 109th (32:54), junior Anthony Horton (Moorestown, N.J.) in 125th (33:16) and freshman Nick Price (Old Bridge, N.J.) in 144th (33:47).
