PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men’s track and field team received recognition for its stellar academic achievements by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Scarlet Knights were named to the All-Academic Track and Field Team. It is the second consecutive year that RU has earned the honor.

Rutgers maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.030 during the 2008-09 academic year. The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Teams of the Year award is based on a combination of academic and athletic achievements.

The Scarlet Knights closed out an outdoor campaign that saw a third-place showing at the IC4A Championship, a fifth-place finish at the BIG EAST Championship and seven student-athletes advance to the NCAA East Regional.
