Maggie Long joined the Rutgers Athletic Development team in March 2012. As Development Assistant, Maggie will spearhead the annual giving campaign, special events coordination, Rutgers Scholarship Program, donor stewardship and fan relations.
Prior to her arrival at Rutgers, Long spent five seasons as the assistant coach for the Monmouth University field hockey program after completing a stellar playing career at the College of William and Mary. Long's responsibilities included on-field coaching, recruiting, academic development, special events planning, fundraising and coordinating Monmouth Field Hockey Camps.
Maggie helped guide the Hawks to back-to-back Northeast Conference Championships game appearances while gaining the nation's attention in the process as the team was listed in the Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Coaches Poll. In 2010, Maggie coached team point leader Michelle Pieczynski (14 g, 3 a) to All-NEC First-Team honors.
Maggie earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Sociology from the College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in Public and Corporate Communication from Monmouth University and is currently pursuing an MBA at Monmouth University. A native of Ocean City, NJ, she currently resides in Asbury Park, NJ.
