Keith RichardsonDirector of Athletic Development, Major Gifts

Keith RichardsonRichardson has been a part of the Rutgers University Athletic development team since June 2008. Where he is responsible for securing major gifts ($100,000 +) for endowed, capital and annual support from alumni and friends of Rutgers Athletics. He also, oversees the athletic departments endowed and annual scholarship program while serving as a development liaison for several sports programs.  

Prior to Rutgers, Richardson spent seven years at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.  At Rider, he served as the director of major gifts responsible for fundraising for the Department of Athletics while directing fundraising efforts for the College of Business Administration and Westminster Choir College.  He successfully funded projects for a new Student Recreation Center, Sonny Pittaro Baseball Field, Herb and Joan Young Softball Field as well as established The Endowed Fund for Rider Athletics. Richardson was also an integral part of the University’s first ever comprehensive campaign which surpassed its $55 million goal in 2003.   

From 2000 to 2007, Richardson also served as assistant women’s soccer coach for the Broncs.  

Prior to Rider, Richardson was a sales representative for Black and Decker and director of marketing for the New Jersey Wildcats of the United Soccer Leagues.

He is a member of the Rider University Athletic Hall of Fame (2010) and a member of the Lawrence High School Hall of Honor (2005).

Richardson attended the University of Connecticut prior to Rider where he received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
