  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 4, 2012) The Rutgers field hockey team (6-6) hits the road for a one-game weekend against conference foe Georgetown (2-10).  The teams will meet for a 7 p.m. matchup at the University of Maryland’s field in College Park, Md.

RU holds a 9-6 series record over the Hoyas. The teams last met Sept. 30, 2011 when Rutgers topped Georgetown, 3-2, with a last minute goal from graduated Scarlet Knight Nicole Gentile.  The Hoyas most recently lost to Monmouth in a 3-1 decision, making it their sixth-straight loss.

The Scarlet Knights went 1-1 last weekend, dropping the first game to Villanova and rebounding to take home the Sunday matchup in overtime over Bucknell.

The Bucknell victory was the fourth overtime game for the Scarlet Knights this season. RU has played the most overtime games of any team in the league and holds a 2-2 record in overtime games this season.

After her game-winning goal and two assists in last week’s win over Bucknell, RU junior Lisa Patrone (Washington Township, N.J.)  was named to the BIG EAST Weekly honor roll. This was Patrone’s second time receiving the honors.
