Rutgers Field Hockey Welcomes Three to Roster
Scarlet Knights add two transfers, one freshman

  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 3, 2014) – The Rutgers field hockey team added three more student-athletes to its roster, head coach Meredith Long announced Tuesday. Jasmine Cole (Montclair, N.J.), Kimberly Jevic (Voorhees, N.J.) and Katie Beilin (Morristown, N.J.) will each join the Scarlet Knights this fall. The three add to five other newcomers who were announced in March.


    Jasmine Cole, Forward

    Montclair, New Jersey/Montclair Kimberly Academy/University of Pennsylvania

    Prior to Rutgers: Enters as a sophomore, playing her freshman season (2013) at the University of Pennsylvania … Played in 17 games, starting in 16 in her rookie season … Led the team with 18 goals and 39 points … Ranked second in the nation in goals per game (1.06) and fifth with 2.29 points per game … Named Co-Ivy League Rookie of the Year, also receiving First Team All-Ivy recognition, the first freshman in program history to do so … Earned Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association First Team All-Region for the Mid-Atlantic region … Holds Penn’s record for goals by a freshman and finished two shy of the program record for goals in a season … Played high school field hockey at Montclair Kimberly Academy, lettering all four years and being named team captain as a senior … Helped her squad win two state championships (2010, 2012) and one state sectional championship (2012) … Contributed to MKA’s No. 17 ranking in New Jersey … Named a 2012 NFHCA Regional All-American and the Star-Ledger’s 2012 Essex County Player of the Year … Earned 2012 NJFHCA First Team All-Group I honors … Two-time First Team All-New Jersey State Prep B, All-Super Essex Conference, All-Essex/Union Conference and All-ECCA (2011, 2012) … Participated in the NJFHCA Senior All-Star Game in 2012 … Competed in the National Futures Championship in 2012 … Played club hockey for New Heights Field Hockey Club and Spirit Eagles Field Hockey Club … Academically, earned the 2013 Essex County Scholar-Athlete Award … Also was a member of the lacrosse team in high school, lettering three times … Parents are Dr. Brian Cole and Dr. Sherrie Pietranico-Cole … Has a younger brother, Brian … Mother is a Rutgers alumna and father ran varsity track at Columbia University from 1979-83 … Born on Sept. 18, 1995.


    Kimberly Jevic, Defense/Midfield

    Voorhees, New Jersey/Eastern Regional HS/Northeastern University

    Prior to Rutgers: Comes to Rutgers as a sophomore, playing her freshman season (2013) at Northeastern University … Made nine appearances for the Huskies last season … At Eastern Regional HS, helped the Vikings to four-straight NJSIAA Group 4 State Championships (2009-12) and a No. 1 national ranking in 2011 and 2012 … Member of the squad that won the 2011 NJSIAA Tournament of Champions … Led a defense that helped the team outscore opponents 247-17 over a 26-game season in 2012 … Helped her team to three gold medals in the Disney Showcase (2009, 2012, 2013) and a silver medal in 2011 … Was a gold medalist at Festival in 2012 … Participated in four years of softball in high school, helping her team to a 2012 NJSIAA Group 4 State Championship … Named a two-time National Academic All-American and a three-time varsity scholar-athlete … Recipient of the 2013 U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award … Member of the National Honor Society (2012, 2013), Spanish Honor Society (2012, 2013) and student government (2009-11) … Parents are Jerry and Laura Jevic … Has an older brother, Michael, who plays lacrosse at Montclair State University … Born on May 6, 1995.


    Katie Beilin, Goalkeeper

    Morristown, New Jersey/Morristown HS

    Prior to Rutgers: Played four years at Morristown High School, being named team captain as a senior … Helped team to a first place ranking in its county … Tallied a 0.86 goals against average and an .880 save percentage in high school with 14 recorded shutouts … Earned Coach’s Award for Morristown High School as a senior, also receiving the Team Leadership Award … Played for the Rapid Fire Elite club team … Won the Richard C. Hess Memorial Community Service Award in 2012 … Two-year president of Morristown High School Choir … Parents are Lorraine and Richard Beilin … Has one sibling, Sam … Born on June 4, 1996.
