February-28-07 Tucker Denied Sixth Year of Eligibility
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers senior wide receiver Shawn Tucker (Parkland, Fla.) has learned the NCAA has denied his request for an additional year of eligibility. Tucker broke his ankle in the Howard game on Sept. 23 and missed the rest of the season.

February-26-07 70th Annual Maxwell Football Club Award Winners to be Honored March 2
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Harrah's Atlantic City will host the 70th anniversary of the Robert W. Maxwell Football Club Award press conference on Friday, March 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Concert Venue, and the 2007 awards will be presented that evening at the National Awards Dinner.

February-16-07 Schiano Signs Contract Extension Through 2016
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers University and head football coach Greg Schiano have agreed to a four-year contract extension that will run through the 2016 season, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Robert E. Mulcahy III. Under the new contract, Schiano's compensation will increase to $1.5 million per year.

February-14-07 Rutgers Football Named Team of the Year by ECAC
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers football team will be named the Division I-A Team of the Year by the ECAC Thursday evening at the Eastern College Football Awards Banquet Presented by FieldTurf Tarkett at the Pegasus Restaurant at the Meadowlands Sports Complex. The Scarlet Knights will earn their second "Team of the Year" award this postseason after the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association named the Scarlet Knights their "Team of the Year" in January.

February-13-07 Seven Scarlet Knights Capture BIG EAST Football All-Academic Honors
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Seven members of the Rutgers football team were named to the 2006 BIG EAST All-Academic Football Team, the league office announced on Tuesday. Senior All-American FB Brian Leonard (Governeur, N.Y.) captured the honor for the fourth time in his career to highlight the list of honorees for the Scarlet Knights.

February-12-07 Rutgers Adds Dellaganna to 2007 Recruiting Class
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano announced Monday that Teddy Dellaganna of Bakersfield CC has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the Scarlet Knights beginning in the fall of 2007. Dellaganna will have three years of eligibility for the Scarlet Knights after spending his freshman year at Bakersfield CC in Bakersfield, Calif.

February-11-07 Collins Named Outstanding Male Athlete of Union County
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Former Rutgers cornerback Manny Collins (Plainfield, N.J.) has been chosen to receive the Chris Zusi Award, presented annually to the Outstanding Male Athlete of Union County. Collins was a fifth-year senior in 2006 for the Scarlet Knights and one of the team's top defensive backs and inspirational stories.

February-09-07 Three Rutgers Standouts Invited to 2007 NFL Combine
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Three former Rutgers football standouts – tight end Clark Harris (Manahawkin, N.J.), fullback Brian Leonard (Gouverneur, N.Y.) and offensive lineman Cameron Stephenson (Inglewood, Calif.) – have been invited to compete in the 2007 NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 21-27 in Indianapolis. The three players concluded their outstanding collegiate careers at Rutgers in the 37-10 victory over Kansas State in the Texas Bowl Dec. 28.
