PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 12, 2012) – Rutgers senior All-America linebacker Khaseem Greene (Elizabeth, N.J.) has accepted an invitation to play in the 2013 Senior Bowl. The Senior Bowl will be played on January 26 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game and its practice sessions will be televised live by the NFL Network.

Greene was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. Greene was the second player in BIG EAST history to win the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year award in consecutive seasons, joining Corey Moore of Virginia Tech (1998, 1999).

Greene led Rutgers with 125 tackles and six forced fumbles to lead the nation’s No. 4 ranked scoring defense. He finished with 5.5 sacks and two interceptions from his weakside linebacker position.

The Elizabeth native is fifth in school history with 376 career tackles. Greene finished with a career-high 22 tackles (6 solo, 16 assists) in the Army win. It was the fourth-highest total by a player in the nation in 2012.

The Senior Bowl is college football's premier pre-draft event, annually featuring the nation's best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams coached by NFL coaching staffs. Senior Bowl practices and game week festivities are attended by more than 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from all 32 National Football League teams, making Mobile and the Senior Bowl the weeklong host to a one-of-a-kind NFL Coaches Convention.  For more information on the 2013 Senior Bowl, visit the bowl's website at www.seniorbowl.com
