PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 13, 2013) – Rutgers football has the highest rated recruiting class in the BIG EAST Conference for 2013 according to ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com. Head coach Kyle Flood and the Scarlet Knights announced the addition of 22 recruits on National Signing Day last week.
The 2013 recruiting class features 11 players from New Jersey, four from Florida, two from Pennsylvania, two from New York and one from Maryland, Delaware and Michigan. In all total, 21 of the 22 student-athletes reside in the “State of Rutgers.” Nationally, Scout.com and Rivals.com rank the RU class at No. 31 and No. 45, respectively.
“Coach Kyle Flood put together a solid class in his first full season on the trail,” ESPN.com wrote.
Of the 22, five of the recruits already have enrolled at Rutgers and will participate during the spring. The rest will join the program over the summer in preparation for fall camp.
