PISCATAWAY, N.J. – WNBC-4 is bringing Mike’d Up – The Francesa Sports Final – on the road this Sunday as the show airs live from Rutgers Stadium. Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano will be a guest on the show, along with several other Rutgers-related guests.
Bruce Beck will host the show for Mike Francesa as Mike’d Up gets the first opportunity to broadcast live from the newly-expanded Rutgers Stadium. The show airs Sunday evening at 11:35 p.m. on WNBC-4 New York.
Rutgers returns 47 letterwinners and 16 starters from last season’s 8-5 team. Preseason All-American Anthony Davis (Piscataway, N.J.) highlights the return of Rutgers’ entire starting offensive line in 2009, tabbed as one of the nation’s top units by several media outlets. The Scarlet Knights hold their first preseason practice Tuesday afternoon in Piscataway.
The Scarlet Knights closed out the 2008 season with seven consecutive victories, including a 29-23 win over NC State in the PapaJohns.com Bowl. The Scarlet Knights have appeared in four consecutive bowls and have won three straight bowl championships.
The seven-game win streak is tied for the fourth longest active streak in the nation.
Rutgers opens the 2009 season Monday, Sept. 7 vs. Cincinnati at Rutgers Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN.
