PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers men’s golf team, under the leadership of second-year head coach Rob Shutte, has announced its 2013-14 schedule. The Scarlet Knights will compete in at least 12 events during the year.

“I am very excited with the schedule we have put together,” said Shutte. “We have added a number of new events and will be competing across the country at notable opponents such as Wisconsin, N.C. State, Michigan State, and Cal State-Fullerton. We will continue to seek the very best competition regionally, since there is great golf in our area this of the country. As our program demands, we will travel nationally to test our abilities against the best.”

In the fall, RU opens by hosting the annual Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers University Golf Course, September 13-14. Eighteen teams will compete for this year’s title. The Scarlet Knights will also compete in the Hartford Invitational (Sept. 23-24), the Badger Invitational (Sept. 29 – Oct. 1), the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-8) and the Lehigh Invitational (Oct. 27-28).

In the spring, Rutgers opens versus Cal-State Fullerton in Los Angeles, Calif., Feb. 17-18, before competing in the Colleton River Intercollegiate (March 2-3), the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular (March 15-16), the C&F Bank Intercollegiate (March 23-25), the Princeton Invitational (April 12-13), the Rutherford Intercollegiate (April 19-20) and the AAC Championship (April 27-29).

Rutgers returns seven letterwinners and welcomes three newcomers to its 2013-14 roster.
