STATE COLLEGE, Pa. –Rutgers women’s golf is 14th with a 632 (310-322) total after two rounds of the 14-team Nittany Lion Invitational, played Friday and Saturday at the Penn State Blue Course. Freshman Taylor Clark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) is tied for 52nd in the 92-player field with a 157 (74-83) entering Sunday’s final round.
Sophomore Jackie Mullens (Brookside, N.J.) and freshman Maddy Gedeon (Roseville, Calif.) are also among the top 60 competitors on the par 72, 6,263-yard course. Mullens is tied for 56th with a 158 (78-80) and Gedeon is tied for 59th with a 159 (79-80).
Sophomores Racquel Zurick (West Trenton, N.J.), Samantha Moyal (Alameda, Calif.) and Gabrielle Sacheli (Pittsford, N.Y.) comprise the rest of the Rutgers scorecard. Zurick is tied for 67th with a 160 (79-81), Moyal is tied for 70th with a 161 (80-81) and Sacheli is 85th with a 166 (80-86).
Kent State leads the tournament by one stroke over Yale, as the Golden Flashes have a 582 (294-288) total through 36 holes. There is a three-way tie for the individual lead. Josee Doyon, Jennifer Ha and Sandy Wongwaiwate are all two shots under par with 142 efforts.
The third and final round of the Invitational begins Sunday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
