2008-09 Season Outlook |
| The Rutgers men's golf team heads into the 2008-09 season on the heels of victory and with seven returning lettermen on the roster. The Scarlet Knights showed steady improvement last season and capped their campaign with a victory at the Hawk Invitational. Sixteenth-year head coach Maura Ballard expects the progress to continue as RU seeks to recapture its status as one of the top team in the Northeast region. |

| The Rutgers women's golf team will have a new look in 2008-09.The team welcomes six freshmen to a squad that returns three letterwinners. With 67 percent of her lineup teeing up in Scarlet for the first time, Head Coach Maura Ballard is working toward a smooth transition. Given the level of competition many of her newcomers faced at the junior level, the 16th-year mentor expects the rookies to have a positive and immediate impact. |

Hilaire Leads Scarlet Knights to Victory at Hawk Invitational |
| DEAL N.J. - The Rutgers men's golf team carded a 299 to win the third annual Hawk Invitational, played Tuesday at Deal Golf and Country Club. James Hilaire (Fishkill, N.Y.) was one of three RU sophomores to finish in the top five, shooting a two-over par 73 to win the individual crown. The event was the final outing of the spring season for the Scarlet Knights. |

| CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Rutgers women's golf team finished in seventh place and the men's squad placed 12th at the 2008 BIG EAST Golf Championships, played April 20-22. The women posted a 140-over par 1,004 (341-330-333) at the Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio, while the men shot a 74-over 938 (307-309-322) at the Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky. |

Arbes’ Top 10 Finish Leads Scarlet Knights |
| PRINCETON, N.J. - The Rutgers men's golf team shot a three round 888 (299-294-295) to place ninth at the Princeton Invitational, played April 12-13 at the Springdale Golf Club. Sophomore James Arbes (Westfield, N.J.) carded a 216 (77-67-72) on the par 71, 6,390-yard course to lead the Scarlet Knights and place tied for ninth in the 78-player field. |

| MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Rutgers women's golf team shot a three-round 1068 (358-366-344) to finish 11th at the Roar-ee Invitational, played April 11-12 at the Hampshire Country Club. Freshman Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) carded a 245 (85-80-80) to finish 12th, while pacing the Scarlet Knights for the third time in as many events this spring season. |

| NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Rutgers men's golf team shot a two round 607 (304-303) to place 14th at the Yale Spring Opener, played April 5-6 at The Course at Yale. Sophomore J.F. Sorbella (Port Chester, N.Y.) tallied a 150 (75-75) on the par 70, 6,749-yard course to lead the Scarlet Knights and place tied for 40th in the 148-player field. |

| Beallsville, Md. ─ The Rutgers golf team shot a three-round 1054 (354-340-360) to finish in 12th place at the Georgetown Hoya Women's Invitational, played March 31 - April 1 at the Members Club at Four Streams. Freshman Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) carded a 248 (83-79-86) to finish tied for 35th place, while pacing the Scarlet Knights for the second time in as many events this spring season. |
