| PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers men’s lacrosse team (2-0) held Manhattan scoreless for a 34:15 span leading to a 7-3 victory over the Jaspers today at the Rutgers Turf Field. With the win, Rutgers improves to 2-0 on the season, while Manhattan falls to 1-2. The three goals allowed by RU were the fewest since defeating Albany 19-2 on April 7, 2001. | |

| TOWSON, MD – Junior transfer Delby Powless (Hagersville, Ontario) scored a goal off a pass from senior co-captain Ken Springer (Ridgewood, NJ) 56 seconds into overtime to give Rutgers (1-0) a 10-9 victory against No. 13 Towson (0-1) in the season opener for both teams. Powless, playing in his first game as a Scarlet Knight, and Springer both tallied three goals in the contest. Rutgers never trailed in the game. | |
