  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 20, 2012) – Rutgers women’s lacrosse was recognized by the NCAA for its academic success with the release of the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores Wednesday. The Scarlet Knights recorded a 1,000 score for the 2010-11 academic year – the program’s third-straight perfect mark.

“Academics continue to be our number one priority and I am very happy that we are able to continue that tradition,” said head coach Laura Brand-Sias. “The team and staff dedicate themselves to our program goals and we will continue to work towards a constant environment of Rutgers Pride.”

The Scarlet Knights rank second in the BIG EAST and 16th in the NCAA with a 998 multiyear score. Rutgers also earned its third-consecutive nod to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Squad.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
