April-23-14 Huang, Slowinski Lead Rout of St. John’s
Behind three-run home runs from sophomores Stephanie Huang (Paramus, N.J.) and Melanie Slowinski (Severn, Md.) in an eight-run bottom of the fourth inning, the Rutgers softball team trounced visiting St. John’s ,13-3, Wednesday afternoon at the RU Softball Complex.

April-22-14 Baseball Downs Rider, 6-4
Rutgers baseball extended its winning streak to a season-best five games with a 6-4 victory over Rider Tuesday at Bainton Field. The game was the finale of a 13-game homestand for the Scarlet Knights (19-18), ending that stretch at 9-4 to improve to over .500 for the first time this year.

April-22-14 RU Faces St. John’s in Midweek Action
Following its first American Athletic Conference series win of the season last weekend against Memphis, the Rutgers softball team continues its eight-game homestand with a Wednesday, April 22 contest against former conference rival St. John’s. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

April-22-14 Scarlet Knights Place 7th at American Championship
Rutgers women’s golf placed seventh with a 991 (336-328-327) total at the American Athletic Conference Championship, played Sunday through Tuesday at Hammock Beach Resort. The Scarlet Knights improved with every round in their final tournament of the 2013-14 season.

Senior attacker Megan Clements (Pennington, N.J.) earned the first weekly award of her career, as she was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Tuesday.

April-22-14 Copper, Scaife Earn All-Met Honors
Freshman guard Tyler Scaife was named the 2014 All-Met Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-Met, while sophomore forward Kahleah Copper was named First Team All-Met, it was announced by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.

April-22-14 Rutgers’ Big Ten Debut Set for Primetime
Rutgers will make its Big Ten debut on the gridiron under the lights as the Scarlet Knights host Penn State in primetime on Big Ten Network. Kickoff for the Sept. 13 matchup is set for 8 p.m. from High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway.

Rutgers junior guard Myles Mack (Paterson, N.J.) and junior forward/center Kadeem Jack (Queens, N.Y.) were today named to the 2013-14 All-Met Men’s Basketball Third Team, as presented by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.
