May 13, 2008 Rutgers’ Recruiting Class Ranked Third by W.I.N. Magazine
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers wrestling's 2008-09 recruiting class has been ranked No. 3 in the country by W.I.N. Magazine. Under the guidance of first-year head coach Scott Goodale, RU finished behind Minnesota and Central Michigan in the rankings. In October of 2007, Goodale's recruiting class was ranked No. 10 by W.I.N.

May 12, 2008 Greene Named to Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List
DALLAS, Texas – The Football Writers Association of America has announced the Watch List for the 2008 Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Rutgers free safety Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) has been named to the list. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is awarded to the best defensive player in college football and sponsored by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

May 12, 2008 Elder-Bush Wins ITA East Regional Arthur Ashe Award
SKILLMAN, N.J. – Senior Katrina Elder-Bush (Boston, Mass.) was honored with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship, the ITA announced Monday. The Ashe Award goes to a player who has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Guiding a young team with only one senior on the roster, head coach Laura Brand again led her alma mater to a successful season. After dropping their first four games, the young Scarlet Knights might have given up on the rest of the season, but Brand kept the team on track as they clinched a second consecutive berth in the BIG EAST Championship.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Under the guidance of first-year head coach Scott Goodale, the Rutgers wrestling team vastly improved throughout the 2007-08 season. After struggling early in the fall, the Scarlet Knights won seven of their last nine matches of the season and were able to send two wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.

May 11, 2008 Villanova Wins Pitcher’s Duel Over Rutgers, 2-1 , on Senior Day
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A bases-loaded single by Villanova's Joe Cotter with two outs in the fifth proved to be the difference as the Wildcats held on for a 2-1 victory over Rutgers in Sunday's BIG EAST series finale in front of 642 fans on Senior Day at Bainton Field. It was the final home game of the 2008 season as the Scarlet Knights honored their five seniors – Donny Callahan (Sparta, N.J.), Vic Cegles (Phoenix, Ariz.), Jon Gossard (Harrington Park, N.J.), Steve Holt (Toms River, N.J.), Matt Patterson (Passaic, N.J.) and student manager Neil Rosenbloom (Bound Brook, N.J.) – prior to the contest.

May 10, 2008 Rutgers Splits With Villanova In BIG EAST Baseball Action
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Jon Gossard (Harrington Park, N.J.) lifted the Rutgers baseball team to a 5-4 victory over Villanova with an RBI single to center field in the 12th inning of game one before the Wildcats evened the series with a 7-4 win in game two of Saturday's BIG EAST doubleheader in front of 563 fans at Bainton Field.

May 9, 2008 Rutgers Head Coach C. Vivian Stringer to Receive Honorary Degrees
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers head women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer will be honored with a pair of honorary degrees this month. Stringer, the third winningest coach in women's basketball history, will receive a Doctor of Humanities degree from Howard University on Saturday, May 10.
