PISCATAWAY, NJ – Long-time Rutgers athletics administrator Kevin MacConnell has been named Deputy Director of Athletics, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Robert E. Mulcahy III. MacConnell replaces Joe Quinlan, who left Rutgers after seven years to become Athletic Director at Seton Hall University.

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Rutgers University senior Michael Kosup (Flemington, NJ) fired a 219 (71, 75, 73) to finish 17th overall in the Joe Agree Invitational held in Williamsburg, VA on Oct. 3-4. The Rutgers University men’s golf team finished 10th overall in the 12 team tournament with a three day score of 892 (300, 295, 297).

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Freshman Kim Scott (Somerdale, NJ), a back for the Rutgers University field hockey team, was named to the WomensFieldHockey.com Honor Roll list for the week of Oct. 3. Scott played a key roll in the Scarlet Knights’ 2-1 victory over the Temple Owls on Thursday, Sept. 29.

October-04-05 Neill Selected as Semifinalist for Prestigious Draddy Trophy
MORRISTOWN, NJ – Rutgers senior defensive end Ryan Neill has been selected as one of the semifinalists for the 2005 Draddy Trophy, which is sponsored by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame. The Draddy Trophy annually recognizes an individual who has combined academic success, football performance and exemplary community leadership, and is regarded in college football circles as the “academic” Heisman.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Junior WR Willie Foster (Miami, FL) has been named BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week while junior FB Brian Leonard (Gouverneur, NY) and freshman DB Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, NY), were named to the league’s weekly honor roll for their efforts in the Scarlet Knights' 37-29 win over Pittsburgh on Sept. 30.
