PISCATAWAY, N.J. –  Rutgers Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tim Pernetti will be on WFAN Friday afternoon with Mike Francesa from Bar A at the Jersey Shore in Lake Como, N.J. The show, live on location, airs from 1:00-6:30 p.m. on WFAN 660 AM and is also simulcast on the YES network.

Rutgers fans are encouraged to wear red and show their support for the Scarlet Knights Friday at Bar A. Pernetti is scheduled to join Francesa in the 3 p.m. hour.

A lifetime New Jersey native with a strong passion for his alma mater, Pernetti has come full-circle in becoming one of the nation’s youngest leaders in college athletics. A former student-athlete “On the Banks”, Pernetti was named Rutgers’ sixth Director of Intercollegiate of Athletics on February 26, 2009.  He oversees 24 men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams in New Brunswick, a larger number than fielded at most of the university’s peer institutions. The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has 212 employees and an annual budget of approximately $56 million, roughly 3 percent of the university’s total $1.8 billion budget.

Francesa brought his radio show to Rutgers Stadium in 2006 on gameday of the program’s most anticipated game in school history as undefeated and third-ranked Louisville visited undefeated Rutgers, ranked No. 15, on November 9, 2006. Rutgers defeated the Cardinals 28-25 in one of college football’s most memorable games of all-time. The game was also a huge ratings success as it still ranks as the second-highest rated Thursday night football game in ESPN history.

The Rutgers-Louisville game also recorded an 8.15 TV rating in the New York metropolitan area. The 8.15 rating was the highest-rated ESPN college sporting event in NYC since tracking began.
