The Rutgers rowing team competed at the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, N.J. on Saturday, April 14. The varsity eight took second place in the finals, finishing with a time of 6:42.18.
The varisty eight placed third in their heat behind Duke and Holy Cross. The Scarlet Knights progressed to the semifinals, where they finished sixth and advanced to the Third Level Finals. The team ranked second overall (6:42.18) in the finals behind Holy Cross (6:40.05).
The women’s varsity four team placed fifth in their initial heat and moved on to the semifinals. In the semifinals, the boat ranked fifth, sending them to the Third Level Finals. The Scarlet Knights took fifth (8:16.56) in the finals behind West Virginia (8:01.28), Army (8:05.24), UConn (8:10.01), and Buffalo (8.16.15).
The second varsity eight placed fourth (7:16.75) in their heat behind West Virginia (7:06.57), Drexel (6:58.62), and Bucknell A (6:56.32). The Scarlet Knights fell just short of the semifinals.
The Scarlet Knights return to the water Saturday, April 28 for the BIG EAST Double-Duel in Indianapolis, Ind.
