Rutgers Rowing Shell Dedicated
Smock family presented shell to Scarlet Knights
Piscataway, N.J. (February 11, 2013) – The Rutgers rowing team was part of a dedication ceremony at halftime of the RU men’s basketball game vs. Seton Hall. The Scarlet Knights received a shell donated by the Smock family.
Jennifer L. Smock (’81) has been active in the Rutgers rowing program since being introduced to crew in 1978. Smock was the stroke seat for most of her career on the Raritan. Her continued interest encouraged her parents, Bud and Jean Smock, to also get involved and resulted in many launches and trailers being painted and scholarships funded.
The shell will be called the Jennifer L. Smock.
