PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 14, 2013) – The Rutgers men’s soccer program announced its 2013 spring schedule featuring five dates against regional competition and three home games.
The Scarlet Knights kick off spring action at Penn State on March 30 and return home for the first of three home spring dates beginning with William Patterson on April 6 at 10 a.m. On April 13, RU will travel to West Point to face Army and close out the spring with NJIT on April 20 at noon and Lafayette on April 27 at 11 a.m.
All home games will be played at the Athletic Center Fields (ACF), located between the RU Softball and Class of 1953 Baseball Complexes.
The RU men’s soccer team finished 7-6-1 overall in 2012. Midfielder Mael Corboz (Green Brook, N.J.) earned Second Team All-Freshman accolades by College Soccer News and Soccer America, as well as, Second Team All-BIG EAST and BIG EAST All-Rookie honors. Additionally, junior forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) was a Second Team All-BIG EAST honoree and freshman defender Mitchell Taintor (Storrs, Conn.) was named to the conference’s All-Rookie squad.
Head coach Dan Donigan begins his fourth season “On the Banks” this fall, which included a NCAA Sweet 16 appearance by the Scarlet Knights in 2011. This fall will also mark the 75th year of Rutgers men’s soccer.
