  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – Inclement weather, including bouts of lightning and heavy rain, forced the postponement of Sunday's Rutgers-Boston College men’s soccer match at Yurcak Field. A make-up date has not been set.

The BC-RU men’s game was the final of three intercollegiate soccer matches today at Yurcak, including two matches as part of the Rutgers/Doubletree Classic. The first game of the Classic was delayed 15 minutes and the second game was delayed 90 minutes due to lightning. Both delays, coupled with a 1-1 tie in the second contest, pushed the anticipated start time for the men’s game past 7:00 p.m. The match was scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

Rutgers will now open its home schedule on Wednesday, when it hosts Seton Hall at 7:00 p.m. at Yurcak Field. RU won two meetings with the Pirates last season, shutting them out, 1-0, during the regular season and winning 2-1 in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals.
