  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 27, 2014) – The Rutgers women’s soccer team begins its spring schedule on Friday, March 28 against Monmouth at 5:30 p.m. The match kicks off the Scarlet Knights’ spring slate, as the squad will face four opponents over the next month in preparation for its inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference this fall.

RU’s match vs. Monmouth will be held at Heavenly Farms, home of the East Brunswick Soccer Club, and is located at 440 Dunham’s Corner Road in East Brunswick, N.J., 08816.

The team will also face LaSalle at 8 p.m. on April 4 and future Big Ten opponent Maryland at 7 p.m. on April 18. RU closes the spring season on April 25 at 6 p.m. against in-state rival, Princeton.

The Scarlet Knights’ match against LaSalle on April 4 will be held at Jackson Soccer Club, located at 334 Jackson Mills Road, Jackson, N.J., 08527.

The two remaining matches on April 18 and April 25 will be held at the friendly confines of Yurcak Field.

The Scarlet Knights’ (13-4-5, 5-3-1) lone season in the American Athletic Conference brought with it RU’s second-straight 13-win season and NCAA Tournament at-large bid, its first conference finals appearance since 2006 and the third NCAA Tournament bid in the last five seasons.

Head coach Glenn Crooks reached a pair of plateaus in 2013, reaching the 150-win mark in his Rutgers career on Sept. 27 against Cincinnati (1-0) and the 200-win mark on Sunday, Nov. 3 against Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference Quarterfinals (2-1 2OT).

Crooks, just the second head coach in the program’s 30-year history, has guided RU to seven NCAA at-large appearances and is 11 wins (156) shy of tying Charlie Duccilli for the most wins by a head coach “On the Banks.”

The Scarlet Knights finished 11-1 at home in 2013, setting a new single-season wins record at Yurcak Field. Since 2006, RU is 63-15-8 (.779) at home, with a 24-6-2 record in Piscataway since 2011.
