LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rutgers left-fielder Amanda Heller (Belle Mead, N.J.) was named to the 2008 All-BIG EAST Softball Second Team, the league announced Wednesday at the annual championship banquet held at the Marriot Downtown Louisville.

May 6, 2008 Lindley Tabbed Most Valuable Player at Annual Softball Banquet
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Sophomore pitcher Nicole Lindley (Cicero, N.Y.) was named the Most Valuable Player at the Rutgers softball team's annual postseason banquet on Saturday, May 3. Lindley led the Scarlet Knight rotation in a number of categories, including a team-low ERA of 3.56 and a record of 9-7 on the season.

May 1, 2008 Rutgers Softball Falls to LIU in Season Finale
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Rutgers softball team (23-32) closed out its 2008 season with a 4-0 lost at LIU (31-15) on Thursday evening. Four Scarlet Knights, seniors Shantai Dixon (Sayreville, N.J.), Ashley Hartley (Ripon, Calif.), Mallory Miller (Anaheim, Calif.) and Christine Royland (Westwood, N.J.), played in the final contest of their collegiate careers.

April 29, 2008 Lindley’s Arm Propels Rutgers Softball To Split With Villanova
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Sophomore Nicole Lindley (Cicero, N.Y.) pitched effectively, earning the game one victory as the Rutgers softball team (23-31, 7-15 BIG EAST) split its BIG EAST doubleheader with Villanova (19-29-1, 7-15 BIG EAST) on Tuesday afternoon. The Scarlet Knights won the opening game 6-1, but fell in game two 11-4.

April 27, 2008 Yard, Lindley Guide Rutgers Softball to Sweep Over Seton Hall
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Scarlet Knights received stellar performances from its two pitchers junior Chrissy Yard (Hillsborough, N.J.) and sophomore Nicole Lindley (Cicero, N.Y.) as the Rutgers softball team (22-30, 6-14 BIG EAST) swept instate rival Seton Hall (20-33, 6-16 BIG EAST) in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at the Ivy Hill Park in South Orange. RU defeated the Pirates 5-4 in the first game and shutout SHU 1-0 in game two.

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Rutgers softball team (20-30, 4-14 BIG EAST) dropped game one of its double header with St. John's (19-33, 4-14 BIG EAST) by a score of 5-0, but rebounded in the second game to defeat the Red Storm 6-4 in a 10-inning tilt.

April 24, 2008 Rutgers Softball Splits Doubleheader With Fairleigh Dickinson
TEANECK, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (19-29) split a doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson (9-26) on Thursday evening at the FDU Softball Field. The Scarlet Knights took game one 6-0 before falling to FDU in a close 4-3 affair in the nightcap.

April 20, 2008 RU Softball Comes Up Short Against Connecticut In BIG EAST Action
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (18-28, 3-13 BIG EAST) dropped a pair of close games to conference rival Connecticut (24-16, 11-3 BIG EAST) on Sunday afternoon at the RU Softball Complex. The Huskies rallied to pick up the 7-4 extra-inning victory in game one and took game two by a score of 2-0.

April 19, 2008 Rutgers Softball Drops Home Doubleheader to Providence
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (18-26, 3-11 BIG EAST) lost a pair of games to BIG EAST foe Providence (20-18-2, 6-6 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 19, at the RU Softball Complex. The Friars won game one 7-1 and game two 6-3.
