PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers softball team (6-23, 1-5 BIG EAST) was swept by conference opponent Pittsburgh (21-12, 5-1 BIG EAST) on a chilly, rain-soaked Saturday afternoon at the RU Softball Complex. The Panthers topped the Scarlet Knights by a score of 11-5 in game one and earned a 5-1 victory in game two.

PRINCETON, NJ - Early leads in both games were the difference makers as the Scarlet Knight softball team (6-21) was swept in a doubleheader by intra-state rival Princeton (12-8) on Wednesday afternoon at the Class of 1895 Field in Princeton, NJ. Rutgers was edged 2-0 in the first game and fell by a score of 9-2 in the nightcap.

GEORGETOWN, DE - With the game tied at five after the fifth inning, the Rutgers softball team (5-16) put together a six-run outburst, defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 11-5 in its final game at the Bash at the Beach Tournament on Sunday, March 19.

GEORGETOWN, DE - The Rutgers softball team (4-15) dropped a pair of games at the Bash at the Beach Tournament on Saturday, March 18 in Georgetown, DE. The Scarlet Knights fell to Stony Brook 9-4 in their first game and was topped 5-4 by Mount St. Mary’s in the second game of the day.

GEORGETOWN, DE - Lehigh’s lone hit of the game proved costly for the Scarlet Knights, as the Rutgers softball team (4-14) was edged 1-0 in its opening game of the Bash at the Beach Tournament on Friday, March 17. RU also fell to Monmouth in its second game of the day, by a score of 13-5.

DOVER, DE - Junior Christina Gillman (Valencia, CA) pitched a solid seven innings and received great run support, as the Scarlet Knights (3-12) defeated first-time opponent Delaware State 8-2 in softball action on a windy Wednesday afternoon.

March-12-06 RU Softball Defeats Bethune-Cookman on Final Day of FAU Worth Classic
BOCA RATON, FL - Junior Nicole Freeman (Sandy, UT) pitched effectively in six innings of action, as the Rutgers softball team (2-12) topped Bethune-Cookman by a score of 3-2 in its final game at the FAU Worth Classic on Sunday, March 12.
