PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 24, 2012) – Rutgers softball freshman Alyssa Landrith (Vacaville, Calif.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, following a 3-2 week for the Scarlet Knights.
The rookie led Rutgers with a 2-1 week in the circle. She recorded 15 strikeouts to just four walks in the midst of registering a 0.31 ERA and holding opponents to a .158 batting average. Landrith allowed one earned run in 22.1 innings of work – three complete games, one of which was a shutout.
Her win against Syracuse on Saturday marked her 16th victory of the season, tying Juliette Brooks (1996) for third on RU’s single season win list.
The Scarlet Knights return to action on Wednesday, April 25 with a nonconference doubleheader against Iona. Game time is set for 2:30 at Rice Oval.
