PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers softball head coach Jay Nelson released the 2009 fall schedule Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights will play four doubleheaders, ending the season with an alumni game on Oct. 11 at RU Softball Complex.

“The fall schedule helps our incoming freshmen get into the flow of things,” said Nelson. “We want the team to be confident with their play, and ensure the newcomers get collegiate playing experience.”

Fall ball kicks off on Sept. 13, as Kutztown/Caldwell travels to Piscataway for two games on Sunday.   

The squad will travel for the next three series. RU visits Temple on Sept. 19 for a doubleheader, followed by two matches at Lehigh on Sept. 20. The Scarlet Knights end their road tour on Sept. 27 at Hofstra for back-to-back games against the Pride.

The season ends “On the Banks” with the highly-touted Alumni Game on Sunday, Oct. 11.
