PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 20, 2012) – Rutgers swimming and diving was recognized on Wednesday for the program’s continued academic success in the NCAA’s most recent release of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. The Scarlet Knights saw a perfect 1,000 for the 2010-2011 academic year, joining nine other Rutgers teams in their 1,000 APR scores this year. Rutgers swimming and diving posted a multiyear score of 991, ranking them fifth in the BIG EAST.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport. The most recent APRs are based on scores from the 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years.
