PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 21, 2013) – The Rutgers swimming and diving team welcomes seven schools to the three-day Frank Elm Invitational Friday, Nov. 22 at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center. The invite marks the final home competition for the Scarlet Knights in the 2013 calendar year.

Participating in this year’s invitational are Army, Columbia, Drexel, Saint Peter’s, Villanova, Wagner and West Chester. Additionally, the invite will also feature the men’s teams from Army, Drexel, Saint Peter’s, Villanova and West Chester.

Each day of competition will have a morning session and an evening session. The action starts Friday at 10 a.m. with the women’s 500 freestyle prelims. The first diving event of the day will be the women’s 3-meter dive, slated for noon. Friday’s second session will begin at 6 p.m. with the finals of the women’s 200 freestyle relay.

RU opened the season with a stretch of three consecutive home events, most recently sweeping a quad meet against former BIG EAST opponents, Georgetown (251-97), Seton Hall (244-104) and Villanova (217-130). In the two-day meet, senior Mary Moser (Wyomissing, Pa.) led the way with three individual first place finishes, while also being a member of three winning relays.

Fellow senior Nicole Scott (Toronto, Canada) broke her second Rutgers record at the meet, setting a new standard of 342.95 in the 3-meter dive. Scott added a first place finish in the 1-meter dive as well, to continue her dominant start to her final year “On the Banks.” The Canadian has now captured first in every event she has participated in to open the season.
