PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 18, 2014) – The Rutgers swimming and diving team heads to Louisville, Ky., for the first-ever American Athletic Conference Championships that will take place from Feb. 19-22. Rutgers will join the five other members of the American at the Ralph Wright Natatorium, with the first day of competition beginning Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Rutgers concluded the 2013-14 regular season with a 9-4-1 record, capped by securing four victories to end the slate. Most recently, RU hosted former BIG EAST rivals Georgetown and Providence on Senior Day on Feb. 8 and defeated the teams by scores of 182.00-89.00 and 196.00-77.00, respectively.
The Scarlet Knights put on one of their best performances of the season as a team, as the hosts claimed first in 13 of the 15 events. Additionally, RU claimed the top two spots in six events and the top three in three events.
Prior to the dual meet, RU also took down both Fordham and Rider on Jan. 25. Two of the Scarlet Knights’ four losses on the season came against ranked opponents.

The action begins on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 12 p.m. with the diving events, while the relays will begin at 6 p.m.
