ANNAPOLIS, MD. (March 2, 2014) – Rutgers swimming and diving team members Greta Leberfinger (Chatham, N.J.) and Morgan Pfaff (Red Lion, Pa.) led the Scarlet Knights in the 2014 ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by the US Naval Academy, claiming second-place finishes in their respective events.
Leberfinger earned a silver medal after posting a time of 2:13.55 in the 200 yard breaststroke. In the preliminaries, she finished in 2:13.06 to set a new Rutgers’ school record.
Pfaff notched her own second-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.70. In the preliminaries, Pfaff recorded a 1:58.02, to set a new school record.
Both Leberfinger and Pfaff's finals and prelim times were under the NCAA Division I “B” cut mark.
Senior Brittany Guinee (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) also competed for RU at the championships, finishing fourth in the 200 fly (1:59.61). The senior posted a NCAA Division I "B" cut standard time of 1:59.45 in the prelims.
The NCAA will release the complete list of qualified swimmers, eligible relays and alternates for the 2014 NCAA Championships on Wednesday, March 5.
