PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Dec. 4, 2009) – The Rutgers diving team hosted the Galbraith Diving Invite, Friday at the RU Aquatic Center. Senior Erin Saunders (Holmes, Pa.) earned first place in both the one and three meter dives. The captain scored 532.00 points in the one meter, collecting 588.35 in the three meter.
RU competed against Connecticut, Drexel, Penn State, West Chester and Army at the meet.
Junior Jen Betz (Ivyland, Pa.) grabbed second in the three meter (518.00) and third (482.35) in the one meter events. UConn’s Megan Halicek finished second in the one meter with a score of 505.50.
Also competing for the Scarlet Knights, rookie Katie Kearney (Mahwah, N.J.) finished eighth in both dives. Kearney – who reached the finals in both dives – scored 412.20 points in the one meter and totaled 442.60 in the three meter.
The divers have over a month off from competition before the team travels to Maryland on Jan. 9. The meet starts at 1 p.m. RESULTS
