PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers freshman Rob Waters (Bellmawr, NJ) became the first Rutgers track athlete to be named Outstanding Track Performer and only the ninth athlete in conference history to win three events at the championship meet as the Rutgers men’s track and field team captured second place at the 2004 Outdoor BIG EAST Track and Field Championship at Rutgers on May 2 with 160.5 points.

PRINCETON, NJ - As a warm-up for the upcoming BIG EAST Championships, which will be held at Rutgers, April 30-May 1, the Rutgers men’s track and field team sent competitors to a number meets April 16-17, including a tri-meet at Princeton with the Tigers and Columbia , the Metropolitan Championships and the Golden Bear Multis. The Scarlet Knights registered six first-place finishes. Junior All-American Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA) continued his dominance in the shot put and the discus with wins in both events.

March-27-04 Segond Headlines Strong Track & Field Performance at Monmouth
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Junior Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA) had a successful day, registering a pair of first-place finishes and NCAA-qualifying marks to lead the Rutgers track and field team in competition at the Monmouth University Season Opener today. Segond took first in both the shot put (16.71m) and discus (57.31m) to lead the Scarlet Knights, while on the women’s side, RU registered 10 first-place marks.
