PRINCETON, N.J. (May 13, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded competition at the 2012 ECAC and IC4A Outdoor Championships on Sunday, May 13 at Weaver Stadium in Princeton.

On the women’s side, RU finished 17th overall with 21 points, while the men placed 30th with nine points.
Junior Asha Ruth (Bowie, Md.) tied for second in the long jump with a mark of 19’8.25” (6.00m). She also took seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.81.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Ruth, Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.), Corryn Hurrington (Bowie, Md.), Tylia Gillon (New Egypt, N.J.) placed second, clocking a time of 45.27. The Scarlet Knights received points in the field from senior Nwamaka Okobi (Freeport, N.Y.) who finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 19’5.5” (5.93m). Okobi was also eighth in the triple jump, recording a mark of 40’1.5” (12.23m).
The men’s team was led by senior Kevin Brown (Woodbury, N.J.) with a fifth-place showing in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 47.29. D’Andre Jordan (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Steve Werner (Newtown Sq., Pa.), Corey Caidenhead (Bergenfield, N.J.) and Brown finished fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:10.62.
