PISCATAWAY (December 11, 2012) –  Rutgers junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) was named the BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday by the conference office. 

Crawford placed first in the long jump at the New Year’s Invitational hosted by Princeton on Dec. 9 to garner the honor. The junior’s mark of 7.60 meters ranks first in the league and first nationally. His jump was also 0.07 meters shy of breaking the Rutgers men’s long jump record.

The Rutgers indoor track & field team returns to action hosting the Rutgers Invitational on Jan. 4-5.
