  • SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 29, 2014) – Redshirt junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) took sixth in the long jump and sophomore Thomas Carr (Voorhees, N.J.) placed 13th in the javelin at the US Track & Field Outdoor National Championships in Sacramento, California on Sunday.

Carr, the 2013 BIG EAST and 2014 American Athletic Conference champion javelin champion, threw for a distance of 66.88m (219’ 5”) on his second attempt, placing 13th in a field of 17. It was his best distance since taking second at the prestigious Penn Relays, where he posted a personal at 71.51m (234’ 7”).

This past outdoor track and field season, Carr took sixth at the IC4A Championships (64.49m/211’ 7”) and entered the NCAA East Regional ranked 16th among Division I javelin throwers and 12th in the East Region.

Crawford advanced to the finals of the long jump and finished sixth in the field of 16 with his distance of 7.88m (219’ 5”). The two-time All-American registered the mark on his initial jump and ranked fourth entering the finals.
