Bradley, O’Donnell Highlight RU Women’s Track & Field Results at Fred Hardy Invitational
Kristen Bradley Takes First in High Jump; Felicia O’Donnell Captures BIG EAST Qualifying Time in 1500m

    RICHMOND, Va.  (March 30, 2013) – Junior Kristen Bradley (Medford, N.J.) took first in the high jump, senior Ekene Egboaja (Edison, N.J.) captured first in the long jump, and the Scarlet Knights went 1-2-3 in the javelin led by senior Alexandra Kelly (Florham Park, N.J.) to lead the Rutgers outdoor track & field results at the Eighth Annual Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond.

    Kelly posted a throw of 45.36m in the javelin logging not only a first place finish in the event, but registered a BIG EAST, ECAC, and NCAA Regional qualifying mark.   Joining Kelly was junior Elaina Mezzasalma (Morganville, N.J.) in second with a distance of 40.81m and Solveig Loeken (Randolph, N.J.) in third at 39.58m, both BIG EAST qualifying results.

    Ugobaja took first in the long jump going the distance of 5.78m for another RU BIG EAST qualifying mark.

    Bradley was one of two Scarlet Knights in the top three of the high jump.  Bradley topped all competitors with a height of 1.65m, while teammate junior Emily Vargas (Clark, N.J.) took third clearing the bar at 1.60m.

    Sophomore Felicia O’Donnell (Franklinville, N.J.) captured third in the 1500m with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 4:37.46.

    Other top five results by Rutgers included freshman Paige Senator (Delsea, N.J.) logging a third place finish in 17:48.66 in the 5000m and junior Ashley Deckert (Newfield, N.J.) taking fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:14.65.

    Additional results included sophomore Jillian Grant (Matawan, N.J.) racing to a eighth place time of 25.08 in the 200m, freshman Adrienne Williams (Hamilton, N.J.) taking ninth with a distance of 11.06m in the triple jump, and sophomore Christina Dibernardo (Woodbury, N.Y.) taking 11th in the 400m in 57.51.

    The relays were led by the Scarlet Knights' 4x800 team with sophomore Allison Payenski (Whitehouse Station, N.J.), senior Victoria Pontecorvo (Staten Island, N.Y.), O'Donnell, and Deckert notching a second place finish for RU in a time of 9:16.97.  The 4x100 relay team that included  Williams, freshman Niyah Lamar (Parsippany, N.J.), freshman Kaprice James (Roselle, N.J.), and Grant took fourth registering a time of 47.93.  The 4x400 relay squad of junior Rachel Leeke (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Dibernardo, Grant, and freshman Eleanor Clark (Camden, N.J.) placed eighth combing for a time of 3:57.25.
