BOSTON, Mass. (February 8, 2014) – The Rutgers women’s track & field team opened up competition this weekend at the Valentine’s Invitational hosted by Boston University.
Rutgers was led by freshman Bryanna Grant (Cranford, N.J.) in the triple jump and freshman Nicole Nicholas (Jersey City, N.J.) in the 500m, both capturing ECAC qualifying marks in their respective events.
Grant took third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.97m. Grant was .04m off her personal best captured at the Terrier Invitational in late January.
Nicholas meanwhile placed fifth in the 500m. She crossed the finish line in a time of 1:14.12 for her best time thus far this indoor season.
The Rutgers women’s indoor track & field team is also in action at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the NYC Armory.
