JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 1, 2014) – The Rutgers women’s track and field team wrapped up NCAA East Region action on Saturday with the Scarlet Knights’ 4x100 relay team racing to its best time of the 2014 outdoor season.
The 4x100 relay team of seniors Asha Ruth (Bowie, Md.), Ekene Ugboaja (Edison, N.J.) and Tylia Gillon (New Egypt, N.J), along junior Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.), placed 14th overall with a time of 44.96. Their time was .01 second faster than their previous best of the year in their second place performance at the American Athletic Conference Championships in early May.
Meanwhile, the 4x400 team, which included sophomore Alayna Famble (Stockbridge, Ga.) along with Ugboaja, Gillon and Farquharson, placed 13th clocking in with a time of 3:35.08.
