PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 7, 2014) – Former Rutgers women’s track and field standout Asha Ruth (Bowie, Md.) wrapped up a successful summer competing at the 2014 USATF National Club Track & Field Championships in Tacoma, Washington.
Ruth, who ran for Shore Athletic Club of New Jersey, won gold in the Club National Championship 400m in 53.58, a personal best for the former Scarlet Knight. The time also places her second on RU’s all-time list.
Additionally, Ruth took second at the championships in the 200m with a time of 24.15.
One of the most decorated Rutgers women’s track and field athletes in history, Ruth finished her career “On The Banks” as a four-time All-American, earning the national honors during the outdoor season in the long jump in 2012 and 2013, as well as with the 4x100 and 4x400 Scarlet Knight relay teams in 2013. She also captured three conference long jump titles during her RU career including gold at the American Indoor Championships in 2014 and the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in 2013 and 2012. Ruth also won Metropolitan Championship outdoor titles in the 200m and 4x100 in 2012 and indoor titles in the 200m and 4x400 in 2014.
