Miller and Mitchell Shine in Bahamas Opener

NASSAU, Bahamas (August 12, 2010) – Rutgers rising sophomore wing Dane Miller (Rochester, N.Y.) had 37 points and RU rising senior forward Jonathan Mitchell (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) posted a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Eastern All-Stars to a 121-67 victory over the Crime Stoppers Wednesday evening at Kendal Isaac Gymnasium.
Miller added seven rebounds and four assists for the All-Stars in the team’s Bahamian opener.
The All-Stars are under the leadership of Buffalo State Head Coach Fajri Ansari and boast a roster that includes six BIG EAST Conference players. Also highlighting the squad are Joe Mazzulla and John Flowers from West Virginia, as well as Brandon Triche and Mookie Jones of Syracuse.
The Bahamas Basketball Federation (BBF) is hosting the annual festival. The contests feature Division I teams from the United States against the Bahamas top local teams from Grand Bahama and New Providence. The University of North Carolina, the University of Memphis and the University of Nebraska are among eight American teams slated to compete in the event.
The Eastern All-Stars return to action Thursday against the Bahamas All-Stars.
