Imbriaco Enjoying Breakout Season

Sept. 29, 2015

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers field hockey senior Nicole Imbriaco was a valuable member of the team for her first three seasons in a Scarlet Knights uniform. Seeing incremental progress each season, she grew into a starting role as a junior in 2014, scoring five goals in 19 games.

In her senior season, Imbriaco has shattered her previous best scoring marks with a red-hot start to the 2015 campaign. The Clark, N.J. native tied her previous season-best in goals by the fifth game of this season, when she had the first multi-goal game of her career with two tallies against Villanova. That started a hot stretch for her, as she put together three straight two-goal campaigns for the Scarlet Knights.

Imbriaco has scored 10 goals through the first nine games, and sits among the nation's leaders in goals per game (1.11) and points per game (2.44). She leads RU with 22 points and is poised for an outstanding final season "On the Banks".
