PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's cross country team wrapped another strong campaign in 2018, totaling four Top 10 team finishes, the first all-region Scarlet Knight since 1989, and three All-East selections.

The Scarlet Knights started out the year with three straight Top 10 finishes, including a third-place result at the Metropolitan Championships. The team carried the momentum throughout to wrap its season with another Top 10 finish at the IC4A Championships.

The season started at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the Fordham Fiasco on September 8. Senior Conor Murphy finished 9th overall with a time of 26:34.40 in the 8K to lead the Scarlet Knights to a 4th place team finish.

At the Metropolitan Championships, Rutgers secured a 3rd place finish with 73 points in the 8K. Junior Cole Pschunder was the top finisher for Rutgers, crossing the line as the runner up with a time of 25:58.9.

Looking to finish the final stretch of the season strong at the NCAA District championship, Murphy posted a time of 31:48 in the 10K race, earning All-NCAA Regional accolades. He became the first All-Regional honoree for Rutgers since 1989.

The campaign concluded at the IC4A Championships, where the team finished 8th overall. Murphy was the top finisher for Rutgers finishing 12th overall with a time of 23:15 in the 8K race.

Following the Big Ten Championships, Murphy was named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree for Rutgers. The senior paced RU in team-high three races on the season.
