Rutgers gymnastics welcomes eight newcomers to the roster for the 2020 season. The Meet R Freshmen series continues with Jenna Ferguson from Wellsville, Pennsylvania.

Favorite Rutgers athlete past or present: Belle Huang
Favorite place to hang out on campus: My dorm room
The person I most admire is and why: My parents because they have helped me get to where I am now and I don’t know what I would do without them
Favorite professional athlete: Rilet McCusker
Favorite professional sports team: Pittsburgh Steelers
One word to describe myself in competition: Determined
One word to describe myself outside of competition: Hardworking
Few people know that I: have been doing gymnastics since I was 3 years old
Person who had the greatest influence on my athletics career: My parents and teammates
I started gymnastics because: when I was little I would not stop moving and jumping around. My friend was in gymnastics and I joined with her.
I chose Rutgers because: The campuses are really nice and the atmosphere is very nice. I also liked how the academics are very good!
Favorite cereal: Captain Crunch
Favorite musician/group: Ariana Grande
If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a gold medal in: Twister
Famous people I have met include: Shawn Johnson and Nastia Lukin
Rituals I have before, during, or after a meet are: having support from people, thinking positive, going out to eat after depending on what time the meet ends
