Men's Lacrosse Excited to Get Back on the Field
9/29/2020
After the 2020 spring season was cut short, a longer than usual off-season followed. During that time, the Scarlet Knights reloaded, welcoming in a class of 18 newcomers that featured 12 freshmen and six Division I transfers. RU also got great news when extra NCAA eligibility allowed captain Kieran Mullins to put Medical School applications on hold and come back for one last season. With the fall semester starting this month, the team returned to classes, and while following all pertinent safety protocols, got back around their teammates on the practice field.

Rutgers is preparing for a big season, and the team has been recognized in early preseason rankings. The team was ranked No. 22 by US Lacrosse Magazine and No. 20 in the nation by College Crosse. Those rankings recognized the talent, new and old, on the squad, and especially the team's offensive prowess. RU will return their top seven scorers from last season.

On the horizon for the program is an exciting move into a new facility. Construction on the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center is nearly finished, and the team will be moving in over the winter. The facility will feature a new locker room, film room, academic services, and many more features for the team to utilize.
