PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse was ranked No. 22 in the nation, as US Lacrosse Magazine unveiled their
early 2021 rankings. The Scarlet Knights have excelled under head coach
Brian Brecht and have continually appeared in the national rankings.
In the publication, the Scarlet Knights were recognized for their strong statistical profile, which included a top-20 extra-man unit and a man-down defense that tied for fifth nationally. Also noted was the team's potent scoring ability. "There's still talent in
Brian Brecht's program" wrote Patrick Stevens, "and Rutgers should be entertaining to watch."
Following a shortened season in the spring of 2020, RU has reloaded in hopes to make an impact on the national scene in 2021. A strong group of
newcomers to the squad join a talented group of returners for the spring season.
The Scarlet Knights have won 44 games since joining the Big Ten in 2015, including 13 ranked wins. Under Brecht, there have been 12 All-Americans, with 16 student-athletes named Scholar All-Americans over the past six years.
